Review:
     > After enjoying part one of the Rurouni Kenshin Movie Trilogy, another helping of deja vu was served while watching this live action adaptation of the original manga. I really appreciate Funimation for releasing the movies individually, complete with DVD, Blu-ray and Ultra Violet digital versions in one package. The digital version is compatible with Hulu apps, which is easy enough to sign up with. I think all movies should be packaged this way so the consumer has full access and tangible property.
     > Kyoto Inferno begins with a fiery battle between the police and Makoto Shishio. Part two keeps you visually interested throughout. The music still seems sparse at times, but this time around it was noticeably more enjoyable. With all the ten against one fighting scenes Kenshin participates in, I'm sure he literally got an ass beating while filming. Just remember this is a movie, and one sword hitting another one is bound to break a blade. Anyway still no fan-service, so don't come expecting anything like that.
     > Kenshin Himura and his friends are faced with another ruthless assassin, Makoto Shishio, who has a chip on his shoulder. Makoto was betrayed, badly burned, and left for dead. He forms an army and aims to seek revenge on the new government! He and his minions will kill anyone that stands in their way, especially the police and even an innocent child.
     > The wandering samurai, Kenshin, finds himself sucked into another situation where he must fight against all odds, but not cause bloodshed. He certainly will not succeed without help. On his way to Kyoto, he will enlist new allies, and seek a wise old blacksmith to obtain the ultimate blade. Can Kenshin, who is trained in the art of fighting against many, defeat Makoto's army and gain access to his lair?
Bottom Line:
     > The second part of the live action Rurouni Kenshin Movie Trilogy continues right after part one. Again the acting, scenery, and fighting sequences are nicely done. Funimation's English dub comes through as well. The middle part of this trilogy seems to have a better score, as I found myself appreciating the music more often (hence the better rating too). Kenshin has an enormous task to fight off hordes of samurai without killing anyone, but he is more determined than ever to maintain that vow. If you enjoyed the first part, then watching this is a given. Otherwise, start with the first part before deciding to jump in to this series.
